At Inner Peace, your privacy and safety matter deeply. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

- Personal content you create: Community Stories, journal entries, mood tracker data, safety plans, chat conversations with the AI companion
- Usage data (how you use the app)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the app's healing tools and AI companion
- To personalize your experience and track your progress
- To improve the app and make the AI better
- To send important updates about your account
3. We Do NOT Sell Your Data
We never sell your personal stories, journal entries, chats, or any sensitive information to third parties.
4. Sharing
Your data is only shared with:
- Our secure hosting providers (to run the app)
- Payment processors (only for subscription billing)
- Third-party AI services that power our AI features — see the section below
We may share anonymous data for research or app improvement, but never anything that can identify you.
5. Security
We use industry-standard encryption to keep your data safe. However, no system is 100% secure.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide our services to you. Specifically:
- Account information (name, email): Retained for the lifetime of your account. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion request.
- Personal content (journal entries, mood tracker data, safety plans, community stories): Retained for as long as your account is active. All content is permanently deleted when you delete your account.
- AI chat conversations (including Narcissist Unfiltered): Conversations are retained only for your session history and are not used to train AI models. Deleted when your account is deleted.
- Usage data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics and app improvement purposes, then automatically purged.
- Payment and billing records: Retained as required by law and tax regulations, typically up to 7 years.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@innerpeaceapp.com. Upon such request, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your Rights
You can:
- Delete your account and all your data at any time
- Request a copy of your data
- Ask us to stop using certain information
8. Children
This app is for adults 18 and older.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of any important changes.
AI Features & Third-Party AI Services
Inner Peace uses third-party AI services to power some features. Before you use any of these features for the first time, the app asks for your permission and explains what is sent and to whom. You can decline and continue using the rest of the app, and you can revoke this consent at any time in Settings.
What data is sent:
- The messages, voice transcripts, and any context you enter in Narcissist Unfiltered, AI Reflection, the Safety Coach, the Coping Coach, and daily Q&A.
- Any journal entries, reflections, or profile context you choose to include when using an AI feature.
Who the data is sent to:
- xAI (Grok) — powers the Narcissist Unfiltered chat.
- Anthropic (Claude) — powers AI Reflection, the Safety Coach, the Coping Coach, and daily Q&A.
- ElevenLabs — when you turn on spoken responses or listen to the course audio, the text of the AI's reply (or course narration) is sent to ElevenLabs to generate the voice audio.
How your data is used and protected:
- Your AI conversations are used only to generate your response and are not used to train AI models and are never sold.
- Conversations are retained only for your session history and are deleted when you delete your account.
- Our AI providers process data under their own privacy and security policies, which provide the same or equal protection as described here.
